“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Cor 5:17 NIV
I can tell you that I have done a few new things once again since I last shared with you:
1) Ran a full 6.2 miles on my own out in Colorado and I was pumped, but tired. The blessing is that my wonderful husband and I mapped out my route the day before I ran and he was at the finish line with a bottle of water, the camera to document the morning and to encourage me with his love and affection. I'm very blessed!
2) Bill and I decided to try taking up tennis and so far we've played twice. What a great way to move our bodies as well as spend time together. I will be totally honest, I hadn't played since I was in junior high for physical education and he has stomped me both times! He is very competitive and so he'll never just "let" me win. When you hear of me winning between the two of us, you'll know that I have improved immensely!!
3) I have also ran my first 5 mile race in Garden City and while competing in a race is a great way to motivate it is also a great way to truly push one's self to the limit!
I would also like to share with you that I have gone one full year now with having changed my diet to help ease the pain from the auto-immune disease. In that year I have not had one allergy shot, absolutely no allergy prescription for an oral daily dose of meds, not one flu shot, as well as no colds or even the flu all winter long, spring, summer and now fall. I have been off of my auto-immune disease medication a full two months now! Doesn't mean that I don't have days that I hurt and wonder if I'm going to have to make a change by going back on the medication, but I find that in a day or two, I feel much better. I've dropped 37 pounds! And for the first time in my entire life, I am being labeled an ATHLETE.
To celebrate I am hosting a give-a-way. I was asked to preview a DVD "Theo, Teaching Children God's Word" and by agreeing to do so, they sent me a DVD to give-a-way. It is a wonderful tool to help open the doors of communication with the children that God has placed in your lives, whether they be the children in your home, Sunday school class, or the neighbor down the street. I enjoyed the music, the story line and especially the scriptures that are brought out in this little DVD. It is only 15 minutes long, but very educational. Thank you Monica with "TheoPresents.com".
To have your name put in the drawing, you need to leave a comment telling me something new you about yourself that I might not know, or what you may have done this summer or fall that is new for you and to you. I will close the drawing October 1st, 2011.
Thank you for all of your encouragement throughout this year and I truly know that I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for your prayers and God's blessings. He is Sovereign and oh so very very worthy!

When preparing to speak at my Grandmothers funeral this summer, I was reminded how I never went to her house as a child that I did not find her homemade chocolate chip cookies. NEVER! Since returning home,
I've decided to honor her memory and take up the baking torch. I've been baking her special recipe (which I did not have a copy of) once a week for my family. They have been thrilled. One day when I'm a Grandma, I hope to give my grandkids the same memory. :-)
